Super Bowl Amanda Gorman Recites Poem: Amanda Gorman, who became the youngest poet to perform at the United States presidential inauguration last month, performed again at the Super Bowl during the pregame festivities in Florida.

On Sunday, the 22-year-old poet grabbed the international spotlight once again.  She took the Super Bowl stage to became the first poet ever to perform on the platform. Super Bowl is an annual National football league championship in the US.

“Let us walk with these warriors, charge on with these champions, and carry forth the call of our captains," Gorman said reciting her original poem titled Chorus of the Captains in a taped segment. "We celebrate them by acting with courage and compassion, by doing what is right and just. For while we honor them today, it is they who every day honor us," she performed before the game. Her poem was a tribute to three honorary game captains who were recognised for their contributions during the pandemic. They are educator Trimaine Davis, nurse manager Suzie Dorner and Marine veteran James Martin, according to The New York Times.

In the video, Gorman can be seen wearing a pearl headband, a glossy light-blue coat with metallic accessories around the collar. "I highly suggest a headband crown for anyone wanting to stand taller, straighter, and prouder," Gorman wrote on her Instagram story.

Gorman, at 19, became the country’s first Youth Poet Laureate. On January 20, she made history as the youngest inaugural poet, when at President Joe Biden's inauguration, she recited her poem The Hill We Climb.

"Poetry at the Super Bowl is a feat for art and our country, because it means we're thinking imaginatively about human connection even when we feel siloed," Gorman said Sunday on Twitter. "I'll honor three heroes who exemplify the best of this effort. Here's to them, to poetry and to a Super Bowl like no other."

She has also recently signed a deal with the IMG Models.
