Shrina shared that she decided on entering into politics after she realised that the Republican politician Ken Calvert is not a problem solver and it was time for substantial steps, bold actions and a new approach to development on the part of the people's representative. The 28-year-old young leader doesn't call herself a politician; instead identifies as a "fact-based problem solver".

While announcing her candidature on July 22, Kurani took Twitter and wrote, "I'm running for Congress in CA-42! It's time for fact-based solutions and bold action. So, together, let's build an Inland Empire where people feel safe, heard, healthy, and have opportunities to succeed. DONATE NOW to help me flip CA-42 blue!"

Check out the tweet here.

In a public statement, Kurani expressed her concerns that as a first-generation American, her family worked together to build a successful pool supply business in Riverside and her parents didn’t take a single day off for straight 10 years, but even that level of hustle is often not enough these days because entitled persons sitting in the positions of power don't discharge their duty with honesty and integrity and  don't do enough to ensure that people get what they deserve.

Slamming her Republican opponent, she said that opportunities are out of reach for far too many people while career Washington politicians like Ken Calvert are focused on helping themselves, their political parties and their corporate donors.

Kurani's election manifesto is mainly based on making things work better in Washington and building an Inland Empire where people feel free, safe, healthy and have equal opportunities to succeed in fulfilling jobs.
