Meet Natasha Bassett, The Australian Actor Who Is Dating Elon Musk

Australian actor Natasha Bassett is in the news as many reports are suggesting that she is dating the world's richest person and CEO of Tesla and Space X, Elon Musk. It is also being claimed that Bassett fell for the 50-year-old innovator's brain and not his bank balance. The reports about the 27-year-old dating Musk surfaced after she was spotted leaving his private jet Gulfstream in Los Angeles, United States.

The development comes months after Musk's split from his partner Claire Boucher, professionally known as Grimes. The break up happened last year in September. The two have a son together. Musk had described the couple's status as "semi-separate" and they have planned to co-parents their child.

Along with the pictures of Bassett and Musk that are circulating online, the news media reported that the two have been seeing each other "for some time." They began as friends and "only became romantic after he split with Grimes," a source close to the couple said.

According to Bloomberg and Forbes, Musk owns a net worth of $243 billion as of February 2022 and is the wealthiest person in the world. He was previously with author Justine Wilson and had five sons. He has also been with actors Talulah Riley and Amber Heard.

Early Life

Bassett was born in Syndey, New South Wales and went for the first auditions at the age of 14. At the time, she landed the lead role in the Australian Theatre for Young People's production of Romeo and Juliet. Since then, she has never looked back.

She went on to study, write and perform at the National Institute of Dramatic Art and further went on to perform under actor-director Cate Blanchett for Backends, which was the stage production of Sydney Theatre Company.

At the age of 19, she got a screenwriting scholarship from the ArtStart Screenwriters Program, under which she wrote and directed her short film titled Kite in 2013. The short film was featured in the Rhode Island International Film Festival, amongst many others.

Bassett then moved to New York City and further studied at the Atlantic Acting School and then relocated to Los Angeles after landing a role in the series Camp. Other than acting and writing, she is working towards her physics degree through Online Program at Harvard. She speaks French and has received the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award for her community service in Australia.

Career

During her career in theatre, she landed the lead role in an MTV film called Dungoona, which was released in 2009. She has also made an appearance in Australian television series Rake, Wild Boys, Cops LAC, amongst others. This she continued to do while attending her classes. She graduated high school and then got a role in Mental, a film by PJ Hogan. Then, Bassette travelled to Paris for the film, The Last Goodbye.

After moving to Los Angeles, she has been part of sitcoms like No Place Like Home. But it was with Hail Caesar! in which she played the role of 50s starlet Gloria DeLamour, that Bassett found fame.

She has also been a part of several films in the thriller genre like House By The Lake, The Pale Door, amongst others.
