Amrapali Dubey in just under a decade has emerged as Bhojpuri cinema's top star and a thorough fan favourite. As per latest reports, she is also among the highest-paid female actors in the Bhojpuri film industry.

From her journey that began in television and landed in films, Dubey has come a long way in making her path through a complex, crowded field.

Along with contemporaries Rani Chatterjee, Antara Biswas and Akshara Singh, she leads a crop of 'new era' actors in Bhojpuri ">cinema who have amassed a large fan following in only a few short years.

1. The 34-year-old hails from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. After completing her higher education from Mumbai, she stepped foot into the Hindi television industry with Saat Phere.

2. Among her most prominent small-screen credits are Rehna Hai Teri Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein, Maayka, Mera Naam Karegi Roshan and Haunted Nights.

3. Her debut in Bhojpuri cinema came with Nirahua Hindustani in 2014, going on to star in successful films Patna Se Pakistan, Border, and Lallu Ki Laila. 

4. Recently, various reports said Dubey had risen in the industry as the highest-paid female Bhojpuri actor. After occupying the top slot for some days, she was overtaken by Akshara Singh, who is reported to charge rupees ten lakh per film.

5. Dubey was recognised as the best supporting actress at BIFA (Bhojpuri International Film Awards) in 2015.
