Who Is Tennis Player Karman Kaur Thandi?

Karman Kaur Thandi is a tennis player who represents India internationally.

She was born in New Delhi on June 16, 1998. She has Aditya Sachdeva as her coach and has spent a short time working at the Mouratoglou Academy in Nice.

She frequently worked out in Nice with Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, who helped her evaluate her performance in comparison to a top-20 leader.

Kaur is one of the youngest tennis players to achieve this position, joining the likes of Nirupama Sanjeev, Sania Mirza, Shikha Uberoi, Sunitha Rao, and Ankita Raina, as the sixth female Indian tennis player to be ranked among the top 200 in the WTA rankings.

She has won four doubles championships and one singles win on the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour, including her first singles title at a $25k Hong Kong tournament in 2018 and doubles titles in Heraklion, and Gulbarga, in 2017 and 2015, respectively.

At the 2018 Jiangxi International Women's Tennis Open, the athlete made history by becoming the first Indian woman to succeed in a main-draw match on the WTA Tour since Mirza did it at the 2012 BNP Paribas Open.

Thandi, who was ranked below the top 400 back in February, has had a fantastic year in 2022. She received praise for her outstanding performance against former Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard in the second round of the WTA Chennai Open 2022 last month after shocking France's Chloe Paquet, then ranked 109 in the world, in the opening round.

Karman is an athlete of the Roundglass Tennis Academy (RGTA) and is coached by Aditya Sachdeva.
