Highlights:

  • Rihanna will become the first woman to create an original brand at LVMH
  • Rihanna will be the first woman of colour to lead a house under the LVMH brand
  • Rihanna’s line will be the first new house created by LVMH since Christian Lacroix in 1987

Reportedly, the LVMH group has already invested $30 million dollars in the newly turned entrepreneur’s brand.

In a statement, Rihanna said “Designing a line like this with LVMH is an incredibly special moment for us. Under the label Fenty, Rihanna's fans will now be given the options of choosing from the widely category of clothing, shoes, and accessories. It is reportedly the first new label under the LVMH brand since 1987. The label will join around 70 brands already in the LVMH group, including Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, and Givenchy. Rihanna also launched her own Savage X Fenty lingerie line in 2018. The iconic face also proved she is the queen of fashion with her inclusive fashion label.

“Everybody knows Rihanna as a wonderful singer, but through our partnership at Fenty Beauty, I discovered a true entrepreneur, a real CEO and a terrific leader,” the chairman and CEO of LVMH, Bernard Arnault, said.

“She naturally finds her full place within LVMH. To support Rihanna to start up the Fenty Maison, we have built a talented and multicultural team supported by the Group resources. I am proud that LVMH is leading this venture and wish it will be a great success,” he added.

A few months ago the 31-year-old singer had filed a lawsuit against her father, Ronald Fenty, for exploiting her name in million-dollar business deals. She sued her father and his business partner, Moses Perkins, for an invasion of privacy and “egregiously and fraudulently” misrepresenting their company, Fenty Entertainment.
