Parveen could have joined the team earlier in the match against West Indies on November 18 but that did not happen. She has also been chosen as the wicketkeeper for the Asia Cup that is starting from November 27. She was informed about her selection through an email on October 29.

"Till five years back, I was not having any interest in cricket, but the Divisional Cricket Association (DCA) has inspired me to dream big like every cricketer," Nuzhat said, as reported by Great Kashmir.

For her selection in the team, Parveen was honoured by the DCA on Wednesday and she thanked her family, most of whom are based abroad, for her achievement. She also dedicated her success to cricketer, Haripriya Das, for her guidance.

Nuzhat's father is working at the Northern Coalfield Limited (NCL) in Singrauli and she works in the Indian Railways.

Nuzhat was also a part of the Under-19 MP women's team and she played extremely well during the MP Cricket Association's (MPCA) T-20 tournament. All this led to her selection in the Indian women's team.
