Teen kills woman after failed rape attempt: In Rajasthan, a 19-year-old man allegedly killed a 60-year-old woman after he failed to rape her. The accused then allegedly raped the deceased woman's body. He is now in the custody of police, as per reports.

The incident occurred in the state's Hanumangarh district. According to the police, the teenager had barged into the woman's house in an inebriated state. Allegedly, he first tried to rape the woman, failing which he murdered her. Then, he raped the corpse. The woman's brother-in-law registered a complaint against the youth.

The brother-in-law of the deceased said to the police that his brother died three years ago. His 60-year-old sister-in-law lived alone and had no children. On Wednesday, September 15, around 10:30 PM, she visited him and said that an acquaintance, Surendra Kumar had come home a while back and molested her. When she threatened him, Kumar ran away with her cell phone. The woman requested him to get her phone back.

The man assured her that he would get her phone back the next day. He also asked her to stay at his home since it was late in the night. But she had to return to take care of her cattle. Allegedly, around 1:00 AM at night, Kumar revealed to a villager that he had strangled the elderly woman to death. When her brother-in-law got the information, he went to her house along with other villagers. There, he found her body lying on the cot.

The complainant alleged that Kumar entered his sister-in-law's house with the intention to rape her. However, she resisted after which he strangled her to death. The police registered a case of rape and murder against Kumar under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Subsequently, they arrested the accused.

In November last year, a Pune man tried to assault a woman by grabbing her from behind. Allegedly, he attempted to force himself on her. However, he failed to rape her. After that, he stabbed her eye with a sharp-edged weapon. A young boy raised an alarm when he found her lying on the road in an injured state. Read more here.
