Harrowing news was reported earlier this week about a 16-year-old girl with mental illness being found 25 kilometres away from her house near an overbridge in Alwar. She was bleeding and had her rectum displaced. The Rajasthan police gave their statement on Friday and said that the girl was not abducted but had reached the Tijara Fatak on her own.

According to reports, the girl was admitted to a district hospital at first and then was referred to JK Lone hospital in Jaipur for her treatment. After surgery, she is reportedly stable. The police have ruled out abduction and have stated that she took an auto from her village and reached the bridge on her own. Further investigation in the case is awaited to ascertain what really happened to the girl, the police officer said.

Minor Girl Found On Alwar Bridge In Distressed State:

Tejaswani Gautam, Superintendent of Police said that the police have traced the route taken by the girl from her village to Alwar city. She said, ““We found that the driver and the auto she travelled in along with 8-10 other passengers. The forensic science team searched the auto and found nothing suspicious. We have also questioned the driver. Now the passengers in the auto will be questioned. The girl travelled around 25 km from village and reached Alwar City in the auto. From there, she walked towards the bridge.” In the initial investigation of the case, the police had suspected rape but the medical report is still awaited.

The authorities have reportedly scanned the footages of more than 250 CCTV cameras and found that the girl visited many areas of the city and then was seen sitting on the footpath. Gautam said, “In one of the footages, she is seen walking towards the bridge but there is no camera on the bridge where she was found in distressed condition.”

The evidence in the case, CCTV camera footages and the statement of the auto driver, have not been able to find out any suspect in the case. A police officer reportedly said that they are currently trying to probe what happened around the bridge that the girl was found in such a distressed state.

When the girl was being treated at the Jaipur hospital, child psychologist and experts who deal with persons with disabilities also spoke with the minor girl to get the information about what went down on the bridge. As the girl was in pain, she reportedly did not give much response. The police have prepared a questionnaire which will be asked through the experts. Apart from the political turmoil in Rajasthan due to the case, the Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission has also taken suo-moto cognisance of the case and has sought a report from the Alwar district administration and Jaipur hospital. The Alwar superintendent of police has been told to submit a factual report by January 18 and arrest the culprits involved in the crime.
