Meerut Gangrape Case:
According to a report by Hindi Daily Hindustan, the Rashtriya Yuva Hindu Vahini leader Meenakshi Chauhan had denied the allegations and called it a conspiracy against her. As per a report by Wire, the survivor alleged that when she informed about the crime to Chauhan, she replied, “Koi baat nahin, 100 gaiyon ka daan ho gaya” (Don’t worry, this is the equivalent of donating 100 cows).
The survivor alleged that she had visited Chauhan’s house on July 15 when she was served a cold drink which was allegedly spiked. The woman alleged that she was then raped by Meekashi Chauhan’s son and brother-in-law. Meenakshi Chauhan is accused of helping the rape accused men.
As per a report, an FIR has been filed against the three accused persons and a medical examination has also been done on the survivor. However, there have been no arrests so far.
The survivor in her complaint had said that she became acquainted with Meenakshi Chauhan when she used to visit her place. The alleged crime took place in the Dulheda village of Pallavpuram.
The survivor alleged that after the rape, she was also beaten and threatened against revealing the incident. The accused persons allegedly threatened to shoot a video of the survivor and circulate it.
Vineet Bhatnagar, the Superintendent of Police in Meerut, was quoted saying, “The woman has given a complaint and levelled serious allegations. We have filed a case and sent the girl for medical examination. Her statement will be recorded. The accused haven’t been arrested yet.”
