Jammu Woman Murdered by Husband: 22-year-old Jammu woman was allegedly murdered by husband and his brother on July 21. The police caught the accused husband on July 22 near the Kunderdan forest area while he was in an attempt to sneak into Kashmir valley via the Kounsarnag mountain pass, as per reports.

The Jammu and Kashmir police team reportedly trekked hills amidst heavy rains on July 22 to arrest Abdul Majeed who was in an attempt to run away after allegedly murdering his brother’s estranged wife on Wednesday.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, Majeed, who was involved in the alleged murder, was caught from the upper reaches of the Kunderdan forest area on Thursday.

As per reports, a police officer stated that a man named Manzoor Abdullah reported the death of his 22-year-old sister Shamim Akhtar at Chassan police station and that she was injured to death with sharp-edged weapons.

Three years ago, Akhtar tied knots with the accused, identified as Mohammad Shabir. Soon after their relation turned sour, Shabir sent his wife to her parent’s house, according to reports.

However, when the deceased was grazing cattle in a nearby field in her parental village, Shabir along with his brother Majeed allegedly attacked her with sharp weapons and killed her on the spot. The officer added that both the accused brothers fled the crime scene and hid in Reasi and Rajouri districts respectively.

An investigation team suspected that Shabir could be hiding in the Rajouri district and raided all possible places. He was arrested from the Bela colony of the district early morning while he was in an attempt to hire a vehicle with the aim to flee to Kashmir via Mughal Road.

Majeed was arrested from the upper reaches of the Kunderdan forest area while he was in an attempt to sneak into Kashmir valley via the Kounsarnag mountain pass.
