The Indian Women’s Cricket team set the floor for the latest season of the popular reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati 9 on Friday.

When last night Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan opened the new season, titled ‘Nayi Chaah Nahi Raah’, there was another surprise package waiting for us. He called on stage the captain of Indian cricket team Mithali Raj, senior player Jhulan Goswami, Smriti Mandhana, Poonam Raut, Harmanpreet Kaur, Veda Krishnamurthy and Deepti Sharma.

The cheerful audience applauded for the women in blue for their excellent show at the Lord’s cricket ground when they were nine runs short of winning their first Women’s World Cup title.

Captain Mithali Raj along with her teammates got a chance to play from the hot seat.

The money they won went to the Institute of Social Development. The evergreen host gave the team a warm welcome and praised for their fantastic performance in the World Cup.

Kaun Banega Crorepati is a special game show on TV which has been entertaining the audience for 17 years.

The coach Tushar Arothe also joined the Indian Women cricketers for the show.

According to reports, first to grace the hot seat were Smriti and Poonam followed by Mithali and Veda. Finally, the pair of Jhulan and Harmanpreet took the prize money to a total of Rs 3.2 lakh.

Also, the news reports are showering so much affection on the Indian women cricketers for the first time. Their performance at the Women’s World Cup has bought them into limelight and now they are being recognized as the country’s new cricket heroes. We wish to see them more often than ever and hopefully the facilitation goes on!
