Woman dies on video call: A woman in Hyderabad reportedly ended her life while on a video call with her husband, reports said Thursday. The couple had been married for a year and were allegedly arguing over the phone after which the tragedy occurred.
According to reports by Telangana Today, the 25-year-old woman identified as Naga Devi lived in Rajendranagar while her husband worked with a multinational in Bengaluru, where he was staying. Over a WhatsApp video call on September 1, the couple allegedly had a quarrel with Naga Devi claiming her husband wasn’t tending to her well, police said.
“She hanged herself to the ceiling fan in the house while he was watching,” the Station House Officer of Rajendranagar was quoted saying.
Woman Dies On Video Call With Husband Watching, Case Registered
After the police and the woman’s relatives reached her house, following information from her husband, her body was taken to Osmania General Hospital.
Investigations in the case are underway.
Last year in January, reports of a similar case of suicide on video call emerged from Kerala, where a woman ended her life by hanging while her male friend watched on through the phone. The 21-year-old was reportedly grief-stricken over the said friend ending their relationship. In another case from 2018, a 20-year-old man reportedly died by suicide on video call with his girlfriend over breakup issues.
