"It doesn't matter if you're Hindu, Muslim, Jain, Sikh. Your religion doesn't make you any more or less of an Indian. This bill spreads hate and does not care about its own people." - Feroza Aziz

What Feroza Aziz Said

Feroza Aziz is a 17-year-old teenager. She lives in New Jersey, in the United States. On TikTok, she often posts videos about her skincare and makeup routine. However, the young girl has a creative way to talk about socio-political issues over the world. In Tuesday's video, she starts by talking about the skincare products that she uses. Seamlessly, she goes on to talk about CAA.

“It's wrong and it's immoral. It's a violation of human rights,” says Feroza Aziz in her video. “To exclude such a vast number of people based solely on their religion is wrong and immoral. It doesn't matter if you're Hindu, Muslim, Jain, Sikh. Your religion doesn't make you any more or less of an Indian. This bill spreads hate and does not care about its own people.”

“I'm not scared of TikTok even after the suspension.” She also promised that she would continue speaking up. “I will continue to spread awareness on issues that I believe need to be talked about. Issues like Kashmir, Afghanistan, Columbia, Venezuela, and even America with what ICE is doing with illegal immigrants.

In her Instagram post, she also adds. “People are protesting as we speak, but they are being fought for doing so. Police brutality is at a high, and it’s only getting worse. Please spread awareness, do not keep silent on this issue.”

Her Earlier Controversy

This is not the first time Feroza Aziz has used one of her videos to speak up about pressing issues.  Last month, TikTok suspended her account after she posted a video criticising China’s treatment of Uighur Muslims. However, TikTok later issued her an apology as well as restored her access to the app.

In an interview with BBC, Feroza Aziz spoke about the experience. The teenager told BBC: “I'm not scared of TikTok even after the suspension.” She also promised that she would continue speaking up. “I will continue to spread awareness on issues that I believe need to be talked about. Issues like Kashmir, Afghanistan, Columbia, Venezuela, and even America with what ICE is doing with illegal immigrants. I will talk about it on Twitter, Instagram and any platform I have, even TikTok.”
