Bundi Rape Case: A 15-year-old tribal girl from the Bundi district in Rajasthan was allegedly raped and then murdered while she and her two friends had taken out their goats for grazing on December 23. The police have arrested two people, including a minor and are still investigating if a third person was involved.
The deceased was found with fatal injures on her neck and head. Her body was recovered from a forest. The Bundi Superintendent of Police Jai Yadav informed PTI of the arrests made and that the investigation is still going on.
On Thursday, the deceased and her two friends had taken their goats for grazing The two friends returned home and told the parents of the deceased that she had stopped on her way back to relieve herself. But when the girl did not return home, the parents and relatives went out on a search for her. They found her naked body.
According to the primary investigation by the police, the deceased was first raped and killed. The police have charged the two accused with sections 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) and 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code. They have also been charged with sections under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The postmortem of the body has been done and according to Yadav, the body has been handed over to the family members.
A teenager belonging to a tribal community was allegedly raped for over a year and then forced to take abortion pills to terminate her pregnancy. The incident took place on October 11 at the Jhalawar district of Rajasthan. The teenager was raped by her neighbour. While the family keeps claiming that she is above 18-year-old, the police were trying to figure out her age. The incident came to light after the survivor complained of stomach ache and was taken to a local hospital. There, she was found to be six months pregnant. Read more about the case here.
