Boxer Kavita Chahal clinched gold in the Women Boxing category at the Los Angeles 2017 World Police & Fire Games 2017. The boxing powerhouse defeated Claire Horgan of London Metro Police Force 3-0 in the 81+kg category. The game was strictly dominated by her from the very beginning.

Kavita Chahal fought valiantly from the start and didn’t allow her opponent to go ahead in the game, blocking any points in the gold medal bout. With a strategic plantation, she successfully bagged her second World Police and Fire Games gold medal. She won her first gold medal in Ireland in 2013.
This 32-year-old Arjuna Awardee hails from Bhiwani. Kavita Chahal is a two-time World Championship medalist, 5-time gold medalist in the Federation Cup, and 5-times Gold medalist in All India Police Games.

Ace swimmer SM Richa Mishra of CRPF achieved another notable performance. She bagged five medals, including four gold and a bronze in different categories of individual swimming contests. This deserves a special celebration as with Richa Mishra’s wins the medal tally for India reached new heights. This is the first time any of the Indian armed personnel has won five medals in the world championships.

Los Angeles 2017 World Police & Fire Games (2017) concludes today. The Olympic-style competition brings together 10,000 athletes from more than 70 countries across the world. This biannual event was founded in the USA. Its aim is to promote the physical and mental well-being of Police and Fire Service professionals around the World.
