Bismillah Khan Granddaughter: Bharat Ratna Bismillah Khan’s granddaughter was allegedly gangraped in Jaunpur in 2019 and the four accused are still not arrested.
Today, the survivor sought justice from Uttar Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in a public court and pleaded for arrest of the guilty men. The survivor has accused four men Hasan Jamal, Hasan Kamal, Hasan Faraz, Hasan Zahid and alleged that the police is supporting the accused only. The survivor and her mother have said that even after an arrest warrant was issued the men were not arrested. Today she reached the Janata Darbar of CM Yogi Adityanath to plead for justice and the CM has assured her that she will get justice as per reports.
The women have said that they are being threatened of consequences and even acid attack. Jaunpur were the incident took place is a city and district in Uttar Pradesh located southwest of the state capital Luknow.
Uttar Pradesh is notorious for such crime against women, in August, in UP’s Tajpur Kala village in Muzzafarnagar, a man tried to rape a 30-year-old married woman in Uttar Pradesh at knifepoint. When the woman raised alarm, the accused reportedly fled the crime scene. The woman was sleeping when the accused allegedly broke into the home. In another incident in mid- August a woman reportedly breathed her last after being brutally beaten up by her husband over dowry.
The country is currently grappling with another Nirbhaya like gangrape case in Mysuru. A 23-year-old student who had moved to Mysuru from Northern India for her education and was allegedly gangraped by a group of men on August 24. The accused also reportedly assaulted her male friend. The two were returning from a trip when they were stopped by goons, who first demanded money from the two.
