The meritorious woman hails from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Her life has been replete with challenges. There were people who belittled her ambitions. It was, however, her faith in her vision that propelled her to materialise her dream, as reported by The Independent Website. She also said that it was her childhood dream to become a pilot but lack of awareness about the same was a hurdle.

Divya was then roped in by Air India at the age of 19 where she learnt how to fly a Boeing 737 and soon enough she was flying a Boeing 777, the largest twin jet in the world.

She spoke to Mumbai Mirror about how her parents backed her for everything she wanted to do. She says, “Luckily my parents have been very supportive, even though a lot of people were telling them not to send me for flying lessons.” She added, “There was a lot of resistance all around – especially the fees, which were a lot for (my parents) to pay at that time.”

In a quest to fulfil her dreams, 17-year-old Divya enrolled herself at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi, a flying school in Uttar Pradesh. Divya was then roped in by Air India at the age of 19 where she learnt how to fly a Boeing 737 and soon enough she was flying a Boeing 777, the largest twin jet in the world.

She encourages all the women out there to pursue what they really want to, reports the Independent. Divya says,

“All women should pursue their dreams, especially right now.”

She also took to Facebook to share some advice on how to become a commercial pilot.
