He said that he has treated women in a sexist way. “I’ve bullied women. I’ve overlooked women. I’ve underestimated women. Not as a rule. From time to time, I’ve done what a lot of men do, which is … when you don’t treat women the same way you treat men. You don’t. I’m from a generation where you really don’t and I’d like that to change. I really would like that to change,” he said.

He said that workplace equality is important, and that he had heard rumours of mistreatment in Hollywood. However, he had no idea it was this bad. He said the experience has been eye-opening for him.

"We’ve got to be vigilant in a new way to make sure that everybody is comfortable and that we get the job done together that we’re there to do.”

But just last week the actor was in the news for telling a female journalist to ‘stick to divorces and plastic surgery’. He was angry that she had included him in an article about James Toback’s sexual misconduct. Baldwin is good friends with Toback and has made many films with him.

He is also under flak for victim-blaming Rose McGowan for not taking action against Harvey Weinstein. He said that she delayed justice when she settled the case with him.

In response, McGowan wrote Wee little baby man had a wittle baby tantrum cos he wants to protect rapist."

Actress Argento, who also accused Weinstein, criticised Baldwin for his comments, as did Anthony Bourdain.
