Hillary Clinton, former United States Secretary of State, U.S. Senator, and First Lady of the United States, will be a presidential candidate in the 2016 elections. Like most politicians, Clinton has her admirers and critics. Whichever side you may be on, you can’t argue against the fact that she is one of the most influential and talked about women in the United States. Here we give you some reasons to admire Hillary Clinton.

1. Hillary Clinton has been a ‘female first’ many times including being the first female chair of the Legal Services Corporation and the first female partner at Rose Law Firm. In 2000, she became the first First Lady of the United States to be a candidate for elected office. She first announced her candidacy the United States presidential election of 2008, in January, 2007 and no woman before her had ever been nominated by a major party for the presidency.

2.  Hillary Clinton’s Husband and former President of the United States of America, Bill Clinton, was involved in the Monika Lewinsky scandal. When his affair with the intern was made public, Hillary Clinton chose to stay with her husband. While many thought that it was a weak decision, it takes strength to follow one’s heart. As an individual she decided to make her own choice and didn't think she needed to prove something.

3. She is a true advocate of women’s rights. On more occasions than one, Clinton has talked about the prevalent gender based pay-gap in her country and around the world. Apart from this, she also advocates the need for a gender neutral work environment for women. A few months ago, The Daily Life also reported a set of guidelines proposed by Clinton to ensure a better working environment for women.
