Talking to NDTV about her new movie, Taapsee said, "Running Shaadi is not a melodramatic film. It is romance with some spunk. My character in Running Shaadi resonates with my personality. In fact, in Pink, I was doing something out of my comfort zone.” She added that the success formula of the film is its simplicity.

Taapsee Pannu will be seen in a string of films this year. Talking about the diversity of roles she will be playing, she says, ”It is quite an eventful year for me. Interestingly, all my movies are different from each other and that is the beauty of it. There was a thought-out process in choosing each one of these films and I am proud of my choices.”

Giving some insight into her movie, she says, "Running Shaadi offers cost-effective ways of marrying. Young couples planning to get hitched soon must take a cue from this.”

Taapsee does not have any qualms in accepting that she didn’t have any links before entering the film industry. She carved her niche in the film industry without relying on anyone. “I am a proud outsider. My audience is my Godfather. It is the audience that makes us and it will stay with us.”

Taapsee also expressed her happiness about the stellar work Indian actresses did in 2016. "I am delighted to see big female actresses taking the centrestage and doing a film all on their shoulders. I think the fact that a newcomer like me, who is just three movies old, is doing a title role shows that people have really changed and evolved over a period of time. They are accepting scripts based on females. Now, we have one film based on females every month and this is a really good sign.”
