All About Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal: Cast, Release Date, Where To Watch

Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal film: The much-awaited Tamil romantic-comedy film Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal starring Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha Akkineni is getting close to its premiere.

The Vignesh Shivan directorial film marks the reunion of the filmmaker, Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara after their previous outing Naanum Rowdydhaan.

Prior to the upcoming film, Vignesh directed a segment in Netflix India’s Tamil anthology, Paava Kadhaigal, featuring Kalki Koechlin in a pivotal role and revolves around same-sex love and inter-caste marriages.

Earlier, the shooting for the film, which began in April 2020, came to a halt due to the pandemic.

Who all are starring in the film?

The lead roles will be essayed by Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha Akkineni and a love triangle is anticipated from the previously released teaser. The project also marks the maiden collaboration of Vijay and Samantha, however, they were part of two different stories in the critically-acclaimed anthology Super Deluxe.

Nayanthara and Samantha will also be seen sharing screen space for the first time. Besides that, the film will feature Bhargav and Thambi Ramaiah in pivotal roles.

Last year, reports claimed that Samantha is stepping out of the film, however, rumours were quashed after no statement regarding the reports was issued by the actor.

What is the film about?

The plot of the film is still under wraps. However, Akkineni has hinted that her character in the film will be very funny.

Anirudh Ravichander will be scoring the music for this project which is bankrolled by Seven Screen Studio in association with Vignesh and Nayanthara’s Rowdy Pictures.

When will the film release?

The film went on the floors in December 2020 and after the wrap up of the first schedule,  Samantha Akkineni joined the team in January 2021. As per reports, the film is slated to release in September 2021.

Where can one watch the film?

In the wake of the pandemic, a large number of films turned to OTT releases rather than going for theatrical release. There no updates about the platform the team is considering for the film yet.
