Jacqueline Avant, the wife of famous musician executive icon, Clarence Avant, was shot dead during a home invasion at her residence in Beverly Hills, California. The event which took place during early Wednesday shocked the entire neighbourhood and Hollywood fraternity.

Jacqueline was taken to the hospital, but could not survive. The security guard, who was at the residence at the time of the incident, was unhurt. The suspects had left when the police arrived on the spot. The police are still unsure of the motive behind the killing.
Jacqueline and Clarence were married for 54 years and have two children. Clarence, received the famous Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, past October. The Avant family thanked everyone for the outpour of love, support and condolences for her.
"She was an amazing woman, wife, mother, philanthropist and 55 year resident of Beverly Hills who made immeasurable positive contributions and impact on the community." read the official statement of Avant's family.
In her early years, "Jackie"- as she was called by her friends, modelled for many fashion fairs. Clarence Avant was recently featured in the Netflix documentary "The Black Godfather", wherein Jackie explained the courtship with him. She looked joyful speaking of him and remembering her days with Clarence back then.
Former President of USA- Bill Clinton and former Basketball player, Magic Johnson mourned the loss of the Avant. Tyler Perry, the American actor, producer and director, too sent his condolences to the family and assured them of every possible help.
Jacqueline Avant played a significant role in the development of Los Angeles and was a powerhouse in her way. She also served as a member of the Board of directors of UCLA’s International Student Center.

Jacqueline along with Clarence raised multiple fundraisers for community development and worked as a philanthropist for many years.
One of the neighbours who was interviewed was in a state of shock and said "I could not believe this was happening to our neighbourhood. She was such a nice lady. That she is no more, saddens me."
Tavis Smiley, a famous talk show host, tweeted "This one hurts deeply. Tragic? Just talking to her was pure joy. Class act. Pulling and praying for my friend and brother Clarence and the Avant family".
