The story of a woman Uber driver in Bengaluru is making rounds on social media and has gone viral. The woman Uber driver had her young daughter sleeping next to her in the passenger seat and was praised for her dedication and hard work.

Rahul Sasi hailed an Uber cab in Bengaluru and found that his driver, Nandini, was a woman who had her daughter sleeping next to her. He began speaking to her and took to LinkedIn to share her story.

Sasi shared a picture of himself with the driver Nandini and received more than 270,000 lines, more than 5,000 comments, and was reposted more than 6,000 retweets.

Sasi wrote, “After the ride started, I noticed a kid sleeping in the front seat. I could not resist asking: Mam, is that you daughter?”

Nandini responded that the young child was her daughter and said she was on vacation, which is why she was working while looking after her child.

She shared that she aspired to become and entrepreneur and had started a food truck using her savings. However, after the COVID-19 pandemic hit she lost all of her money and was forced to shut down the food truck.

Then, Nandini started driving for Uber and works 12 hours per day in an effort to save money and rebuild. After the trip ended, Sasi asked Nandini whether he could take a photograph with her and share her story online on social media.

Sasi wrote in the post that he said, “you have a very inspiring story; while many people get disheartened after a failure, you are a fighter and continue the fight till you win”.

Sasi also shared updates after his post went viral and gained traction on social media. He shared that Uber country head Prabhjeet Singh reached out to him and also offered support and appreciation to Nandini.

Sasi also added that he informed Nandii about the social media reaction and the thousands of netizens who were offering her support.

Netizens wrote that they were “so proud of this tough mother” and hailed her for her determination and grit.
