Yesteryear's Bollywood diva Mumtaz was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000 at the age of 54. There was a malignant lump in her breasts. Mumtaz, however, overcame it with determination and solid support of her family.

The Mexican beauty who rose to fame with her debut movie, Kites is a cancer survivor. She was detected with breast cancer when she was 29. The disease was cured completely because of an early detection. Since then, she has been continuously working on spreading cancer awareness. She also participated in a documentary titled, “1-a-minute” that revolves around breast cancer.

Manisha Koirala was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2012 at the age of 42 years. However, her dogged determination helped her to tide over the crisis. In fact, she shared her bald-headed photo on Instagram to inspire people and send out a message of positivity. She has been actively engaged in cancer awareness drives since then. She can be seen in the role of Nargis Dutt in the latest release Sanju.

Lisa Ray was suffering from a cancer of Plasma cells in 2009. In 2010, she revealed that she was free of cancer after the successful treatment that involved a stem cell transplant. She has also been sensitising the masses about cancer.
