  • Anne Jacqueline Hathaway was born on November 12, 1982 in Brooklyn borough of New York City. Interestingly, she was named afterWilliam Shakespeare’s wife by her mother, who was an actress herself. She grew up watching her mother Kate perform in Les Misérablesas as Fantine.
  • Although her parents were not keen on allowing Hathaway pursue acting, she appeared in many plays like Once Upon a Mattress and Jane Eyre and Gigi during school time. She went on to become the first teenager to be admitted into The Barrow Group Theater Company’s acting program.
