The Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group (ECSWG) G20 has commenced its three-day meeting at Gandhinagar to discuss building biodiversity and combating land degeneration

At the G20 Empower organised by FICCI Young Leaders Forum, SheThePeople shaped the discussion on gender equality putting a spotlight on women empowerment

The target of this G20 India panel discussion session was to assess the conducive environment built by public and private spheres in India toward women’s access to technology.

The budget this year has allocated funds for the welfare of women. The government highlighted that STEM subjects see participation by 42% of women in India. 

The meeting discussed conflict surrounding gender, reconciliation, and peacebuilding keeping in mind the motto of India’s Presidency, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

PM Modi stated at Bali Summit’s G20 that success cannot be achieved without participation of women. India’s G20 Nari Shakti Model furthers that with women-led development as its goal. 

India’s Digital Gender gap renders more women digitally disabled than men. This is a situation that needs to be rectified. 

A few students created the G20 India logo using 3000 sanitary pads, which were later distributed to underprivileged women at the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University.

Giorgia Meloni, the Prime Minister of Italy like many others attending G20, stated that it’s inetgral India uses G20 negotiations to end the Russia-Ukraine war. 

Catherine Colonna, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, participated in G20 meet in New Delhi. She emphasised how peace discussions are the need of the hour amidst war emergencies.
