Looking at the trailer, the movie seems like a laugh riot. Goldie has been making people laugh for a long time, but not many people know about her struggles with anxiety and depression.

She is also taking it upon herself to educate children about anxiety and depression and how to deal with it. Kids nowadays have a lot more pressure on them, as parents want them to succeed in this competitive world. Goldie says that helping these kids cope with anxiety is something that is very close to her, “It has nothing to do with what I do, making people laugh or being an actress, but it has a lot to do with who I am, and it matters to me.”

Like many stars who suddenly achieve fame, Goldie also struggled with anxiety and depression when she became famous. She said that she is still learning to deal with it, and that is why it is important to help children so that they can learn to cope with it before they turn into adults.

Children pick up a lot of their behaviours from adults, and it is important to educate them about anxiety and depression in this day and age, especially because these lifestyle diseases are so prevalent.

One way to do so is through storytelling. Special educator, Jennifer Francis, who is based in Bangalore told us that, “stories are a significant medium generally used to help children understand a situation better. It is easier to then ask the child what he/she would do in that situation. It makes more sense to them because the child has obtained an insight on the intensity of the situation.”

Goldie is making a significant effort to make children aware of anxiety and depression. It is a commendable effort, and in doing so, we’re sure that she learns something new about coping every day from the kids too.
