Hazarika believes there is an urgent need to bring Northeast India at par with the rest of the country and her effort is trying to achieve that vision. “Hopefully, this contributes in a small way to making in India.”

She believes that entrepreneurs who are associated with Food, travel industry can actually take advantage of the digital media.

She has launched many other supporting ventures like the Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival and Eclectic Ananta Speaker Series to put the spotlight on the stories of North East.  For her leading newsrooms is about giving space to people’s ideas and “not micromanaging.” Something she learnt from her mentor Keith Berwick. The Emmy Award-winning broadcaster is the founding executive director of The Aspen Institute of which Hazarika is a member. She picks two other leaders from North East - Hekani Jakhalu, Director of YouthNet and Hasina Kharbhih, founder of Impulse NGO network as the young entrepreneurs to watch out for in the industry. While speaking on harnessing small enterprises and scaling them up at SheThePeople and Facebook’s nationwide ‘Boost Your Business’ program, in Guwahati, she said,

If we have more platforms, more opportunities to interact, we keep inviting more people and have interactions, in a couple of years the rate of growth will be faster.

Tanushree also started Tattva Creations in 2010, which, provides brand and communication solutions to corporates and organizations and is the recipient of the Young Communicator Award from the Symbiosis Institute in 2010 and the Outstanding Woman Achiever award by FLO (ladies wing of FICCI) in 2013. She is a Fellow of the fifth class of the India Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
