Actor Priyanka Chopra, has revealed in an interview that her father always asked about her marriage plans. The actress is all busy and excited to promote her new release The Sky Is Pink, co-starring Farhan Akhtar and directed by Shonali Bose. During an interview with Zoom TV, Priyanka revealed how she misses her father’s presence on the big days of her life which he could not witness. He always wanted to see her get married and was waiting to get his suit stitched for the ceremony. While promoting her movie, she spoke about her “cathartic experience of acting in the movie. She said, “I was getting married during this movie and I missed my dad so much at that time. I missed his presence so much knowing that my mom would be doing it all alone when it was all that my dad wanted and would keep saying “Main suit kab silwaau, main suit kab silwaau?" It was very prevalent in my brain at that time and this definitely helps me heal.

Cathartic experience of working in ‘The Sky Is Pink’

The Sky Is Pink’ which will be released on 11 October, was recently premiered at the 2019 Toronto Film Festival. The film is based on the life of motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary, who passed away at the age of 18. Priyanka said that the role she played in the movie helped her to finally confront with the sense of loss and abandonment after her father’s death. She said that the cathartic experience while filming the movie helped her get in terms with life and “heal a part of me that was wounded after I lost my, my father.”

Priyanka also revealed that after her father’s death she did not know how to deal with it. After playing the role of Aditi in the movie, she has realized that death and loss is the most natural thing that happens to everyone. Furthermore, the movie celebrates love, and changed her perspective towards life, and that it is meant to be celebrated while we live, instead of mourning the loss.
