Tributes Pour In After Veteran Pakistani Actor Qavi Khan Passes Away At 80

80-year-old Qavi Khan, the veteran Pakistani actor passed away from a prolonged illness. Khan was receiving treatment in Canada before he passed away.

The actor began his journey as a child actor at Radio Pakistan and is known for being one of the first actors of the Pakistan Television Corporation (PTC). Qavi Khan began working for PTV in 1965 when it first started in Lahore. The actor worked in over 200 films and television plays since the 1960s.

In March 2011, his achievements were honoured at an event at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts.

As per reports, the Khan's son Adnan Qavi said that the date of the funeral would be announced later.

Netizens took to social media to pay tribute to the legendary actor.

Tributes For Qavi Khan

Actor Adnan Siddiqui took to Instagram to share a note expressing his grief over the tragic passing of Qavi Khan. He described him as a beloved actor who inspired many through his talent and charisma.

Siddiqui added that as a colleague and friend we had the opportunity to witness Khan's dedication to the craft and his kindness. He signed off by saying that the actor would be missed but his legacy would live on forever.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan condoled the loss and said he was saddened to learn about the famous actor's passing.

Singer and songwriter Ali Zafar also took to Twitter to pay tribute to Khan. He wrote that while he never had the honour of working with him, his professionalism and humility were praised by people who had to privilege of working with him.

One netizen described him as one of the most accomplished and distinguished actors in Pakistan. They added that they had never seen an actor as positive as Qavi Khan.

Another user spoke about growing up watching Khan on television and in films and expressed his grief.

Several netizens shared various clips of Khan's roles in films and shows. One such netizen shared a clip of his acting in Andhera Ujala and wrote that the legend would stay alive forever through his performance.
