Ali went on to say in the thread, “Attacking every single person in Bollywood everyday will make you lose your credibility because when you repeat something day in and day out you lose value.

Bollywood Defends Mumbai After Ranaut Compares It To PoK

Following Ranaut’s repeated remarks about the Mumbai Police, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut reportedly wrote, “We kindly request her not to come to Mumbai. This is nothing but an insult to Mumbai police. The Home Ministry should take action over it.”

Ranaut, who is currently with her family in Himachal Pradesh, responded to Raut on Twitter saying, “Sanjay Raut Shiv Sena leader has given me an open threat and asked me not to come back to Mumbai, after Aazadi graffitis in Mumbai streets and now open threats, why Mumbai is feeling like Pakistan occupied Kashmir?”

Her comment drew a lot of flak from Bollywood, who came to the defence of Mumbai city and its police.

Actor Richa Chadha tweeted, “Mumbai is truly cosmopolitan in SO many ways….grew up in Delhi and I can’t explain how much safer this city feels as a woman.”

Renuka Shahane, responding to Ranaut’s tweet, asking her to “have some respect for this wonderful city” where her “dream of becoming a Bollywood star has been fulfilled.”

Meanwhile, director Hansal Mehta wrote, “You know what’s special about my city Bombay/Mumbai? You could spew venom on it but it will still welcome you with open arms. Learn magnanimity from this city.” Adding to the discussion, Riteish Deshmukh too tweeted, “मुंबई हिंदुस्तान है।”

Ranaut has responded to the criticism by saying that she will now return to Mumbai on “9th September,” and that kisi ke baap mein himmat hai toh rok le.
