Ira Khan, daughter of actor Aamir Khan, is engaged to her boyfriend Nupur Shikhare. The pictures from Ira's engagement ceremony held in Mumbai are going viral on social media. In the pictures, Ira Khan can be seen wearing a gorgeous red gown, while her boyfriend Nupur Shikhare can be seen in a black suit.
The engagement ceremony was attended by Ira's father Aamir Khan, mother Reena Dutta, Kiran Rao, Aamir Khan's nephew Imran Khan and grandmother Zeenat Hussain. Check the pictures here.
Ira Khan engaged to Nupur Shikhare
Shikhare, a celebrity fitness trainer, proposed to Ira Khan a few months ago at one of his cycling events in Italy.
The proposal clip sees Khan standing in the audience row. Shikhare walks towards her, kisses her and goes down on his knees. He then asks her, "Will you marry me?" to which she replies, "Yes." The couple kisses again, amid cheers and claps from the people. Watch the clip here.
Congratulatory messages poured in for the couple as soon as the video went up. Fatima Sana Shaikh wrote, “This is the sweetest thing I have ever seen." Krishna Shroff called it the “cutest thing ever.” Huma Qureshi, Rhea Chakraborty, Hazel Keech and Gulshan Devaiah also dropped their wishes and messages in the comments section.
Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare started dating in 2020 during the lockdown. The couple keeps sharing pictures and videos together on their social media including their workout sessions together. Celebrating their second anniversary, Khan had shared several pictures along with a note for her boyfriend earlier this year. She wrote, “It's actually been two years but it feels like it was always like this. I love you. As truly and genuinely as I am capable of loving. For everything."
Shikhare is a Bollywood fitness trainer whose clientele includes Sushmita Sen, Aamir Khan, and Kiran Rao among others. Along with being a professional fitness trainer, he is also a dancer.
He has also worked as an action director for Disney India’s show Aladdin. Born and brought up in Pune, Maharashtra, he has also played tennis at the national level. His mother Pritam Shikhare is a dance teacher.
As a fitness enthusiast, he participated in Ironman 70.3 World Championship in 2014. In 2017, he also represented India at the American reality competition Ultimate Beastmaster Season 2.
