Divyanka Tripathi Twitter reply to a troll asking her why she doesn’t wear a dupatta won cheer on Tuesday. One of the most well-known faces on Indian television, the Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actor was faced with an outrageous remark from a social media user who enquired, “Why don’t you wear a dupatta on Crime Patrol?”

Without losing her cool, Tripathi gave a befitting reply that checked all the boxes of valuing women’s choices against dress policing. She wrote in Hindi, “So that people like you learn to respect women even if they aren’t wearing a dupatta. Kindly change the way you and other men around you look at women and don’t comment on what women wear. My body, my honour, my wish! Your decency, your wish.”

“You wear shame, we won’t have to wear dupatta,” one user wrote to the troll. “Leave women’s clothes, change your mindset and perhaps that will help crime to go down,” another said. “It’s her choice…she can do whatever she wants…apko dupatte se kya lena,” another user wrote.
