Ananya Panday Open to Projects that are Digital First

Ananya Panday OTT Perspective : The actor is excited for the release of "Liger," a sports drama in which she co-stars with Vijay Deverakonda.

Ananya Panday, an actress, says she'd like to try her hand at digital storytelling because she believes that stories should be told regardless of the medium. The "Student of the Year 2" star described the OTT platforms as a blessing during the coronavirus pandemic. Ananya Panday quoted,

"I'm platform agnostic."

Ananya Panday said she's excited to do something in the digital space. She added that she has just watched interesting things online like 'Ludo', 'Paatal Lok', 'The Crown', 'The Queen's Gambit, and so on. She claimed it doesn't matter which platform she is working on as long as the work reaches the right audience, she's fine with it being seen on a big screen or even a small screen.

Statistics show India's over-the-top streaming (OTT) market remains one of the fastest growing markets in the world. Over the past twelve months, spurred on by the Covid-19-induced lockdown, total domestic OTT consumption increased from 181 billion minutes to 204 billion minutes. This has helped in shaping the viewership very differently from pre-COVID times.

The actor is excited for the release of "Liger," a sports drama in which she co-stars with Vijay Deverakonda, and Shakun Batra's untitled relationship drama, in which Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Dhairya Karwa also appear. Panday considers herself lucky to be working on two different projects at the same time. "These films are unlike anything I've ever done before."

"The genre of Shakun's film is the first in our industry. Anything like that would pique people's interest. 'Liger,' on the other hand, is a fantastically exciting film with plenty of music, action, suspense, and humour." 

Panday praised her co-stars in both of the upcoming films. She added that Vijay's work is one of her favourites. He's a fantastic actor and a wonderful person. It was a pleasure to work with him. She claimed that they all have been like family.  "We get along with each other very well. It feels like home wherever I'm with them. I'm blessed to work with such lovely people," she added.
