For Sudhir Mishra’s upcoming film Afwaah, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bhumi Pednekar have been cast. Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Anubhav Sinha’s Benaras Mediaworks will produce the comedy thriller.
Bhumi Pednekar took to Instagram to share the news with her followers. She wrote, “Officially a part of the biggest #Afwaah of the year! Beyond excited to feature in #SudhirMishra’s quirky thriller #Afwaah along with versatile actor @nawazuddin._siddiqui. Looking forward to reuniting with maestros like @anubhavsinhaa and #BhushanKumar. #Afwaah to start filming soon!”
When asked about the film and working with Siddiqui for the first time, Pednakar said that Nawazuddin Siddiqui is certainly one of the best actors the country has to offer. When she is working alongside such a talented performer, it makes her want to double down on her efforts. She said that working with Sudhir Mishra has long been on her bucket list.
Anubhav Sinha is a Hindi film director, producer, and screenwriter from India. Among his films are Tum Bin (2001), Dus (2005), Ra.One (2011), Mulk (2018), Article 15 (2019), and Thappad (2020).

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Mishra previously collaborated on the Emmy-nominated Serious Men (2020). The film Afwaah will be the filmmaker’s first collaboration with Pednekar.
Sudhir Mishra is a film director and screenwriter from India who has directed films such as Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Dharavi, and Chameli. Mishra’s work has been recognised by the Indian government with three National Awards from the President of India, as well as the French government’s Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. According to Sudhir Mishra, Pednekar and Siddique bring a new chemistry to the table, and he can’t wait to work with them.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui, on the other hand, went on to describe Bhumi Pednekar as a “great performer.” He said, “Working with Sudhir on Serious Men was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my career. Collaborating with him once again and that too on such a unique subject is such an honour.”
The film will go into production soon and will be shot in Alwar, Rajasthan, according to a detailed schedule.
