As an endeavour to the end of animal exploitation and a celebration of human evolution, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) recently announced the names of the winners of its Vegan Fashion Awards 2020. PETA has awarded Bollywood actress Richa Chadha with the Best Vegan Style Icon award. The award felicitates individuals and brands bringing forth animal-free fashion.

Others on the award list are Milind Soman who received the Best Vegan Activewear award for his apparel brand Deivee, Lakmé Fashion Week’s Sustainable Fashion Day won for being the Best Fashion Moment, Adidas India’s Unisex Adidas Originals Continental 80 Shoes was recognised under the  Best Vegan Trainers category, Best Vegan Wool was given to Faborg, Best Vegan Women’s Shoes was awarded to Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika, Best Vegan Men’s Shoes was given to The Alternate, Broke Mate received the Best Vegan Bags award and the Best Vegan Sarees was conferred upon Ghatkopar Cloth Stores.

Richa Chadha was quoted saying, “The forward-thinking winners of PETA India’s awards take fashion and compassion seriously. They make it easy to have a killer look without killing animals.”

Richa Chadha Vouches For Veganism

Richa Chadha is a strong supporter of veganism and regularly voices her opinion on animal rights. She turned to veganism three years ago and has since been actively vocal about the benefits of veganism. Chadha has earlier modelled in a lettuce dress and became a mermaid for PETA’s pro-veg ads following which the Masaan actor Chadha decided to leave eggs and dairy products for good.
