Australian cricketers Laura Harris, Delissa Kimmince are married

Same-sex marriage in Australia has been legal since 9 December 2017. In a social media post they thanks all their supporters and families.

Australia’s women cricketers Delissa Kimmince and Laura Harris got married this Sunday and shared the news of their wedding on Instagram. “Thank you to everyone who made our wedding day the best day of our lives. To the brides' man and brides' maid thank you for being our sidekicks. To all our family and friends who shared this day with us, we are truly grateful for all the love and good times we get to share with you,” wrote Kimmince on

The couple had been dating for a long time. Last year, the duo represented Brisbane Heat that emerged as the champions of the Women's Big Bash League. Harris, after winning the Women’s Big Bash League in 2018/19, had proposed to Kimmince after dating for four years. Both the batswomen were a part of Brisbane Heat’s winning campaign and Harris had hit the winning runs. Interestingly Harris had hit the winning run for the side in the latest edition of the tournament and won the WBBL title after defeating Sydney Sixers in the final.

Kimmince has represented Australia in the 16 and 41 ODIs. She was a member of the team that defeated India in the final of the T20 World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket ground this

Same-sex marriage in Australia has been legal since 9 December 2017. Legislation to allow same-sex marriage, the Marriage Amendment (Definition and Religious Freedoms) Act 2017, passed the Australian Parliament on 7 December 2017 and received royal assent from the Governor-General the following day. Other Australian cricketers like Alex Blackwell and Lynsey Askew, Megan Schutt and Jess Holyoake and Jess Jonassen and Sarah Wearn are other women in same sex relationships with their partners.
