In China, Students Wear DIY Wings & Hats To Maintain Social-distancing

After facing the wrath of the pandemic, in various parts of China, schools are reopening slowly. However, schools and the government are taking several preventive measures to avoid the spread of COVID-19 again. As reported by

Various schools have come up with creative ideas to ensure that kids remember to maintain social distancing and get used to this new normal. These DIY hats and DIY wings definitely make the classrooms more colourful.

DIY Hats

In Hangzhou, students wear seen wearing hats with three-foot plumes on each side to ensure social distancing. This creative way to ensure social distancing has garnered a lot of appreciation on social media, after Ms Eileen Chengyin Chow tweeted about it. Ms Chow is a professor of Asian and Middle Eastern studies at Duke University. She explained on Twitter that these headgears are similar to the ones worn during the Song dynasty in China to ensure people do not conspire during the court.

It can be seen in the picture that kids have shown creativity in these hats by making them colourful. While one student made a crown on this hat, the other has made a car shaped headpiece.

DIY wings

As reported by Gulf news, in Taiyuan in China's northern Shanxi province, elementary school students came to school wearing wings to ensure social distancing. It can also be seen in the pictures that students are seated leaving one empty chair between them, thereby following social distancing guidelines.

While the main purpose of these hats and wings is to maintain social distancing, students have also shown their creativity to make these hats colourful and attractive. Kids sure find ways to keep their spirits high and spread some colours in the world even in such difficult times. We hope they keep themselves safe amidst the pandemic.
