Shaili Chopra's New Book Will Drop Truth Bombs On Midlife & Menopause

Shaili Chopra, award-winning journalist and founder of SheThePeople and Gytree, has announced her fifth book, 'Hot, Bothered, and Unapologetic', launching in 2026.

Real women, real stories

The book will delve into personal stories, cultural insights, and medical perspectives, breaking the silence surrounding menopause experiences in India.

Beyond closed curtains

India is going to see more than 400 million women in menopause by 2026. Yet, this organic chapter is still seen as a disease to 'cure' or a phase to be ashamed of.

'India deserves a book on menopause'

"Millions of women are quietly living through a storm they can’t name," Chopra expressed. "We joke, we mask, we scroll, we carry on while our bodies shift and our minds scream for answers."

A mirror for the everywoman

'Hot, Bothered, and Unapologetic' seeks to open discussions on menopause. "This is not a manual. It's a mirror. For women to see themselves and feel less alone," says Chopra.

Redefining how India talks about menopause

"Women fear being judged, dismissed, or simply labelled 'too emotional', 'too hormonal', so they say nothing. But it’s time to talk, laugh, cry, rage and reclaim this phase with honesty," emphasised Chopra.

Fabulous Over Forty

On September 15, 2025, Shaili Chopra is also hosting the Fabulous Over Forty – The Wellness Festival, India's first major menopause-focused summit, featuring notable voices and workshops.

Bringing menopause into the spotlight

Chopra is also working on India's first documentary on menopause, which will explore the physical, emotional, and societal challenges women face during this transition.
