She may be only two films old, and yet Sara Ali Khan has made a place for herself in Bollywood already. Khan made her big screen debut with Abhishek Kapoor directed Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput last year. Winning the viewers with her charm and grace, she has also proven her potential as an actress. Thus it was no surprise that she won the Filmfare Award in the category of Best Female Debut for Kedarnath. Before she began working in films, Khan completed her graduation from  Columbia University in New York, where she studied history and political science. But the fire to act and be on the silver screen took over, and she came back to India to follow the footsteps of her parents. While her entry into films was marred by the dialogue on nepotism which surrounds almost all-star kids debut these days, Khan managed to win everyone over with her earnestness.

Sara was also diagnosed with PCOD ( polycystic ovary syndrome) when she was a teenager. Due to which she weighed around 96 kgs, but the 'never give up' attitude that she has, inspired her to overcome her health challenges.  As she

"If you want to shine like the sun, burn like the sun".

The access that my parents have worked so hard to enable me to have is not something I can deny or something that I can run away from. - Sara Ali Khan

On nepotism

Every star kid today is called out or even trolled for being in the place of privilege. They are constantly reminded that they are the product of nepotism and without their family, they wouldn't have managed to have such stellar debuts and comfortable careers. Without denying the fact or justifying nepotism, Sara has bravely embraced the nepotism tag. In an interview with Rajeev Masand, she said, "I think it will be hypocritical and wrong for me to say that it (nepotism) doesn't exist," further adding, "There are perks of being an insider. The main perk is access. I could go to Rohit sir's office and say, 'Sir, would you please consider me for Simmba?' That's a privilege. So the access that my parents have worked so hard to enable me to have is not something I can deny or something that I can run away from."

On career advice

Sara once revealed that the one career advice which is really close to her heart, and which she follows it till today is the one given by her mother Amrita Singh. In an interview with RJ Stutee she said, "If you lie, it will be visible in your eyes. Not even your D.O.P or makeup dada can save you from this so don't do it. My mom said to me".

A Proud Foodie

From weighing 96 kg to losing up to 52 kgs, was not at all an easy task for her, especially since she had PCOD. Nevertheless, she is not shy, when it comes to her love for food. Expressing her love for Chole Bhature she candidly narrated a poem for her favourite food in one such interview of "Aur Batao" with HT. "Dear Chole I have just come to Delhi. I miss those fond moments where you and my hands would meet. I miss those moments where you would be on tip of my tongue and I would swallow you with pride and excitement. Chole Bhature you are dearly missed and I hope we meet again soon. With love always hungry Sara," she said.

On being a studious kid

If you lie, it will be visible in your eyes. Not even your D.O.P or makeup dada can save you from this so don't do it. My mom said to me.

Even after being surrounded by glamour and enchantment of the film industry in her earlier years, Sara was a proper nerd who loved studying.  Remembring her childhood and teen days, she said she was a topper and loved studying. She claimed her mother used to snatch her books because she was always lost in her studies and never took rest. For Khan, who graduated from Ivy League college of Columbia University New York, education was always a priority. "Acting has always been a dream, but then I got distracted. Firstly, I was really fat and secondly I was very nerdy, and the combination meant that I shouldn't be acting. So I used to keep studying and there was a time when my mother used to confiscate my books because she would say it's not normal to study so much," she said at an event.
