72-year-old raped in Agra: On November 16, the police arrested a 52-year-old man for allegedly raping a 72-year-old woman at Bodla in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The elderly woman was approached by the accused "with the promise of securing money for a job." The survivor was found by people on November 15, Monday, morning in an alley.

According to the Press Trust of India report, the 72-year-old survivor lived in an area under the Sikandra police station and had travelled to Bodla in the evening for work. There she was approached by the accused at Bodla crossing.
The Inspector of Jagdishpura police station Pravindra Kumar Singh said that a case has been registered against the accused who has been nabbed, while the survivor underwent a medical examination.
Shedding light on the details of the incident, Singh said, "The man said he was going to a wedding and that he needed a woman to make the confectionaries there." In hope of earning some income, the survivor agreed.
The woman alleged that she was taken to a house and was raped by the accused there. On Monday morning, the survivor managed to get out of the house but fell in the alley outside. The inspector said that the police were informed by the people.
A police official from Jagdishpura Police Station told SheThePeople that they got a call through 112 from the area around 8-9 in the morning. The investigation is still on in the case.

In July 2021, a 65-year-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man in his forties, in Mahoba district of UP. The woman was found critically injured, with her hands and legs tied. The accused was nabbed and taken into custody by the UP police.
In February this year, an 80-year-old woman was allegedly raped while she was alone at home, also in the Mahoba district. The incident took place while the survivor's relatives were away to attend a family function. When they returned, the relatives found the survivor crying and complaining of abdominal pain.
