Meet Anu Singh Choudhary: Author, Screenwriter, Now Producer Of Netflix's Alma Matters

Anu Singh Choudhary is not your regular "everyday woman" as she claims to be. Her cap, colourful with multiple feathers, is proof.

Anu Singh Choudhary, producer of the recently released Netflix documentary Alma Matters: Inside The IIT Dream, is "an everyday woman." Or so her social media bio says. Co-founder of Dopamine Media, the production enterprise behind the mini-series that is already earning wide praise, Choudhary has many feathers to her cap.

She's a screenwriter, author, speaker, mother, translator, former journalist too. An everyday woman?

A Look At Anu Singh Choudhary's Work

After obtaining her bachelor's degree from Delhi's Lady Shri Ram College for Women and a postgraduate diploma in journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Choudhary joined the Indian media as a journalist with NDTV in Delhi. Here, she was noted for her Ravivar bulletin and reported extensively on elections, natural disasters and the Mumbai blasts.

An award-winning journalist, she picked the Ramnath Goenka for sports journalism in 2013 and for her reports in the Gaon Connection, has won a LAADLI award as well. She has close to two decades in the media production industry and has appeared on panels for the Jaipur Literature Fest several times.

Web series she has written for, or been a part of in creative capacity, include The Good Girl Show and most notably, the Sushmita Sen-starrer thriller Aaryawhich she co-wrote with Sandeep Shrivastava. A second season for Aarya has been announced. See here.

Aside from writing and producing for the screen, Choudhary is also a published author with acclaimed books like Neela Scarf, Mamma Ki Diary, and tens of other translated works to her name.
