Women’s Hockey: India In Asian Champions Trophy Final

The Indian women's hockey team, playing in the ongoing five-nation Asian Champions Trophy, was defeated by China on Friday. However, the team has made it to the final, keeping up hopes of a bronze medal. The team will face off with China again today at 5 pm IST.

With Friday's win, China tops the table with nine points, and India stands at the second spot with seven points, followed by Japan, Korea and Malaysia.

Of the four group matches India had played, they have won two and lost one.

Both the teams were scoring equal, but in the end it was China who scored the winning goal with just two minutes left for the match to end.

China scored the opening goal in the 35th minute and second goal came along in the 51st minute. India’s Poonam Rani helped India convert a penalty corner in the 52nd minute. Then skipper Vandana Kataria found the chance for a goal in the 55th minute.

Both teams were in the attacking mood but Chaina had the last laugh.

Meanwhile, big cheers for Anuradha Devi Thokchom as with this match, she completed her 100th international game.
