Another Vidya Balan starrer not-a-typical-glamorous movie Begum Jaan’s first look is here. It is a remake of National Award-winning filmmaker Srijit Mukherji’s Bengali film, ‘Rajkahini‘.

Following a huge success of the original, the Hindi adaptation has Vidya Balan as the in-charge of a brothel. Since the first look went out on social media sites on Wednesday, Vidya fans can’t stop sharing it enough.

Just a still from the sets is released and we had a glimpse of Vidya’s role but what completely blown our minds away is Vidya’s intense appearance. We see her puffing hookah and being a pure badass woman, who is completely inevitable. Her looks surely confirms that audience should expect another power packed performance from her, and this time quiet tougher – jammed of rude and bratty tricks.

We know how much Vidya can immerse into her character and that’s the beauty of the roles she plays. She is co-starred with Gauahar Khan. Her dishevelled and de-glamourous avatar is what making her fans irresistible to wait for the movie to hit the theatre.

Yet again, Vidya is featuring in a movie that is based on a theme of women-centric topic. Actually, the topic is one of the avoidable ones in the society. The film describes the lives of 11 women living in a brothel, which would later be divided by the newly-chalked LOC, left with one half of the house in India and the other half in Pakistan post-partition.

According to reports, the film has been awarded an ‘A’ certificate by the censor board — without any cuts —  while muting a few cuss words like ‘saali’, ‘azadi’ etc.

Looks like Vidya is up for another journey of shattering some serious stereotypes in Bollywood with this one.

The cult is scheduled to release on March 17 this year and also stars Pallavi Sharda , Priyanka Sethia, Gauahar Khan , Flora Saini , Ridhima Tiwari, Ravija Chauhan and Poonam Rajput. Srijit Mukherji is making his directorial debut in Bollywood with this film.
