In Kahaani, a pregnant Vidya Bagchi (Vidya Balan) decides to land in Kolkata in search of her missing husband during the festival of Durga Puja. She meets Satyoki Rana Sinha (Parambrata Chatterjee) and Khan (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) who help her find the missing links of her husband’s disappearance.

Balan is currently promoting her upcoming film ‘Begum Jaan’ – the trailer was recently launched, and as expected, she steals the show with another woman-centric film. Balan essays the role of a brothel owner with complete finesse. The film is set during the partition times.
