In the video, Elmquist is seen stumbling down the sidewalk and turning towards a building where her body was found.

Elmquist's female cousin had shared a post regarding her being missing after a work party. The post which was shared on X (formerly Twitter), read, "My cousin Jackie Elmquist has been missing since last night after she left a work party in Manhattan- she didn’t come home or show up for work this morning please spread the word so people in the area can see it since all of her family lives here in Minnesota."

What did the police say

After her body was found near the building, the Officers and EMS rushed to the spot where she was declared dead. The Police are still unclear as to why Elmquist was trying to enter the building. The investigation is underway. They believe that the death was an accident and no foul play is involved. "A preliminary investigation determined the deceased's injuries are indicative of having fallen down the garbage chute," a Deputy Commissioner of Public Information spokesperson said.

However, the Police said that there are possibilities that Elmquist might be intoxicated. An autopsy report that will determine the cause and manner of the death is expected soon by the city's Medical Examiner's Office.

The father of the deceased woman, James Elmquist was also tried to be interviewed. He said he is going through the things of his daughter. “It’s tragic and, uh, it’s just a bad situation I can’t really talk," he further added with teared-up eyes and a choking voice.
