Two top women working in the White House are pregnant and loving it

In the midst of all the reports stating the closing of opportunities for pregnant women in USA, comes a ray of hope. Currently, two women working in the white house are pregnant with no signs of any obstacles in their careers. According to a report by Telegram, Jen Psaki, who is President Barack Obama's communications director and Katie Beirne Fallon, who is his legislative director- had previously shared their plans to start a family and received nothing but support from the office.

Katie Beirne Fallon, who is pregnant with twins and is due this month and says everybody at the White House has been supportive and she is being taken care of by the staff and the President alike. The cooks make sure that they include a baked potato topped with tuna fish and frozen yogurt with Raisin Bran for her and the President often asks her about her health advising her to not let her work come in the way of her doctor’s appointments.

The Telegram further reported Jen Psaki saying that as she discussed her options with her husband, she got a phone call from the President himself, ensuring her that she and her job will both be taken care of. According to her, the President said: “My wife would be mad if I didn't convey that having a baby is a wonderful experience and the best thing I'll ever do, but it's also hard. And we'll make it work.”

The report states that one of the only assistants to a President in the past who had a baby on the job, according to former White House aides, was Joan Baggett Calambokidis, President Bill Clinton's political director. Joan, according to the report, spent most of her delivery on the phone discussing business until the doctor told her to hang up once the head of the baby was almost visible. Compared to this the current scenario at the White House is refreshingly positive.
