In a recent study posted by Natural Cycles, it was concluded that women aged 36 or above had the best orgasm compared to any other group. This new finding goes against the belief that younger women enjoy sex more than older women.

Amanda Bonnier, the brand manager at Natural Cycles told the Huffington Post, “the results of the survey, send out a really positive message about something we women have known and expected for some time. As you get older and get to know your body better, you can have a more enjoyable sex life and feel confident about yourself.”

Responses pertaining to the frequency of intercourse, attraction and orgasm, frequency of 2618 women were studied. The group was divided into three age groups- 23 and below, 23-36 years old and 36 and over.

While those who were 23-year-old or younger felt equally attractive and confident as those who were 36-year-old or older, the younger group did not experience orgasm as intensely or as frequently as the older group did.

Though many females experience their first orgasm only after masturbating, many take the time to orgasm through a penetration in an intercourse. It is only after many experiences, after gaining confidence and knowing what arouses them, do they reach the apex.

Anuradha Sharma, a 45-year-old mother, said, “women become more mindful of their emotions and physical needs. They are fully aware of what they want and don’t want. They are more vocal about their desires, unlike the younger girls who are driven by their passion, hormones and the excitement of having sex.”

“Sex is like a skill you learn to hone after years of practice. The little nuances of it that make the whole experience magical is a mystery you solve over time. It’s only after knowing every move, having experienced everything that one learns to appreciate sex and thus enjoy orgasm to its fullest extent,” says Bidisha Swami.

In a study on 2015, it was recorded that 14% of young women (under the age of 35) in particular had never had an orgasm from intercourse. However, women older than 35 years have an orgasm more often because they are now more familiar with their bodies. Older women are more experienced in bed and can drive themselves or guide their partner to help them reach the climax.
