Barack and Michelle Obama's eldest daughter, 22-year-old Malia Obama will closely work as a writing staffer on Glover’s project, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Additionally, Malia, who studies at Harvard University, has joined a project with senior writer Janine Nabers, who previously worked on HBO's Watchmen. Nabers is reportedly working on a new potential series called Hive, which is rumoured to be based around a Beyonce-like figure. Obama has been recruited to work on the project which is still in the early stages of development.

She has previously worked at various companies as an intern and recruited by several television and film productions for internships. She was part of several dramas including HBO’s Girls and CBS’s Extant. In 2017, she interned at producer Harvey Weinstein’s company before he quit over sexual harassment charges.

Malia is interested in pursuing a career in Hollywood and is set to graduate from Harvard University as part of the class of 2021.

Recently during an appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast, Obama discussed his quarantine days with daughters, Malia and Sasha (19). "It's a blessing because all the teenage stuff is kind of gone now and they're just back, and they love you again and they want to spend time with you," the former president shared. "And they're funny. Like I think a lot of families, we went through that first month where we were playing games every night and doing a little arts-and-crafts projects, and then slowly they started to get a little bored with us."

Obama also revealed that Malia is currently dating a British boy who is a “wonderful young man”. “He was sort of stuck because there was a whole visa thing and he had a job set up. So we took him in and I didn’t want to like him, but he’s a good kid,” he added.

Last week, Glover, actor-rapper-writer famous for his award-winning FX comedy show Atlanta, announced a project deal with Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge and said that together they are working on a remake of the 2005 Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie comedy film, Mr & Mrs Smith.
